Our Story...

Whether you were born and raised here, or just passing through, you discover that Fairhaven is one of those towns you never want to leave!  This has proven true for owners Kenneth and Cathy Melanson, both of whom have deep roots here having grown up here, graduated from Fairhaven High School, and raised their four daughters here.

In 2011, the family opened Emma Jean’s Bakery & Café, Candy House and Ice Cream Shoppe, located just next door.  Since its opening, Emma Jean’s has certainly become a destination for many including numerous visitors making the trip from neighboring states!

The Bakery stands as a remembrance of Emma Jean Caldas Melanson, daughter of Cathy and Kenny’s youngest daughter, Samantha, who sadly passed away on June 30, 2010.  To this day, the family has dedicated numerous hours and donated portions of sales to support the March of Dimes in Emma Jean’s name.

With the great success of the Bakery, the Melansons delighted in the idea of opening a family-friendly restaurant when the opportunity presented itself.  In September of 2014, that idea became a reality as we opened the doors to our restaurant and deli offering everything from freshly butchered meats to cook at home to some of the best home-style meals, pizzas, steaks, burgers and more in our restaurant.

With the bakery next door, a butcher shop, and restaurant & bar, we have so much to offer, why go anywhere else?
